A CULTURAL TREAT: Chhandakotsav 2014 – the annual dance festival organized by the city-based dance school, Chhandak Kala Academy – was a grand affair. The two-day-long classical dance show held at the Dhirubhai Ambani Auditorium of Daly College, marked the 11th anniversary celebration of the school. The various dance forms like Odissi, Kathak and Manipuri were a hit with the audience.
Divya Bharti, one of the performers, said, “These performances are a result of our immense hard work and dedication. I am glad that everyone enjoyed our presentation.”
WITH LOVE FROM JAPAN: The artistes, who came all the way from places like Kolkata and Delhi, charmed the audience with their performance. But the major attraction of the show was Japanese dancer Kaori Naka’s impressive Odissi performance. The dancer said, “I am touched with the kind of response I have got. I am proud to be associated with Indian classical dance.”
